Laser Northeast Gathering Company

Canyon Midstream Partners’ senior management built the Laser Northeast Gathering System and operated the pipeline until its sale to Williams Partners in 2012. The Laser acquisition was announced as the key to Williams’ creation of the Susquehanna Supply Hub, a large natural gas gathering hub in northeastern Pennsylvania.

After an anchor contract was secured with Alta Resources, development of the project began in late 2009. Construction started in February 2011, and commercial operation began in October 2011.

The completed project encompassed 39 miles of 16” steel pipeline, with 10,000 hp of compression at the Millennium Pipeline interconnection in Broome County, NY. Initial capacity was 320 MMcf/day, and an expansion project expanded that figure to 1.4 Bcf/day.
